Paco Wong announces "SPL 3"

5 Jul - "SPL 2" producer Paco Wong recently revealed that there will indeed be a third instalment of the SPL franchise due to the box office success of the sequel.

As reported by HK Top Ten, the Sun Entertainment Culture CEO announced the news during the movie's box office celebration that was held in Causeway Bay.

"Since mainland and global audiences love the movie, we will do our best to produce the third film as soon as possible," he said.

The movie, which was released on 18 June, had since made a whopping RMB500 million (USD80.6 million) at the box office.

Expressing his happiness with the good news, actor Max Zhang revealed that he has no qualms about making the third movie, despite his injury filming "Ip Man 3" recently.

Meanwhile, Babyjohn Choi is excited with the movie's box office takings, saying that it was his first film ever that made more than RMB100 million.

When asked if he would fight in the next movie, the actor said that he plans to learn martial arts soon.
