Pahang prince says he feels sorry for JDT fans over ‘dog’ banner – Bernama

Football Association of Pahang (PBNP) president Tengku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ahmad Shah said he felt sorry for the Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) supporters who put up a banner (tifo) with the picture of a leader with a dog's face at the 2015 Charity Shield match last Saturday.

He said the individuals involved should look at the football match from a positive aspect and understand what was appropriate and what was not as well as the awareness that the act was insulting and prohibited by religion.

"I feel sorry for those involved and their families. I do not understand their thinking. We Malaysians do not think like that.

"We want healthy development from all aspects and if we still think like children... how to build the country?" he said after presenting assistance to flood victims at SK Ulu Tembeling, Kampung Bantal, Jerantut, yesterday.

He was asked to comment on the actions of JDT supporters in displaying a tifo of a leader with the face of a dog carrying a puppy believed to be aimed at a Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) leader during the match in which JDT beat Pahang 2-0 the Larkin Stadium in Johor Baru. – Bernama, February 3, 2015.
