GEORGE TOWN, April 26 — The three languages of the Penang Pakatan Harapan (PH) manifesto had different promises for each race, Teng Chang Yeow said today.

The Penang Barisan Nasional chairman claimed that all three versions of the manifesto — in English, Malay and Chinese — had different content.

“This show that they are out to cheat the three different races with different content in different languages,” he said.

Last night, Penang PH launched its manifesto with 68 promises.

Teng said the PH state government had failed to fulfill 51 promises it made in the past 10 years.

“How are they going to fulfil another 68 promises? Why don’t they fulfil the 51 promises first,” he said in a press conference today.

He said PH did not promise to stop hill slope development in the state.

“There was nothing in the manifesto to address illegal hill cutting in the state and there was nothing to address the damaged hills in Penang,” he said.

He said this showed the state did not have any commitment at all to protect the state’s environment.

“They have the cheek to claim that they have not destroyed an inch of permanent forest reserve but the forest reserve is gazetted by the previous administration, not by them,” he said.

He pointed out that the PH administration did not gazette even an inch of forest reserve in the last 10 years.

“We are supposed to gazette Pulau Jerejak as a state park but the PH government has failed to gazette it in the last 10 years,” he said.
