There will be no deployment ban of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) amid the unrest in Hong Kong, according to Malacañang.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) continues to monitor the situation.
“The protocol now is to ask Filipinos there to avoid those places where there are protests [and] marches so they won’t be involved,” he said.
Meanwhile, Panelo said President Rodrigo Duterte is concerned about the welfare of the Filipinos in Hong Kong.
“The President will always be concerned when the safety of our countrymen is at stake,” he said.—AAC
