Pandora plans Listener Love Day in the US

The US music streaming service is getting ready to celebrate its 10th anniversary with an ad-free day set for September 9.

All US Pandora listeners will be able to take advantage of the special day, enjoying ad-free listening beginning on September 9 at 12am ET and running for 24 hours.

A 10x10 mixtape will allow listeners to go back in time and hear the service's top 10 songs of the last 10 years.

Pandora was founded in 2005 and based its service around the Music Genome Project, allowing it to offer internet radio personalized to each user's tastes. The company says almost 80 million listeners now tune in each month, making for more than 74 billion listening hours.
