Panpayak Replaces Rodtang Against Daniel Puertas At ONE: FIRST STRIKE

ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon was scheduled to battle Daniel Puertas under kickboxing rules at ONE: FIRST STRIKE on 15 October. Unfortunately, Rodtang had to withdraw from the bout because he tested positive for COVID-19.

However, the show still goes on for Puertas. He’ll now be facing Rodtang’s teammate and #3-ranked Muay Thai specialist, “The Angel Warrior” Panpayak Jitmuangnon.

Panpayak is 2-1 in ONE Championship (247-40-3 lifetime record), holding wins over Masahide “Crazy Rabbit” Kudo and Rui Botelho. His sole loss in the organization came at the hands of #1-ranked Muay Thai fighter Superlek “The Kicking Machine” Kiatmoo9.

Puertas, on the other hand, is a newcomer to ONE. He is, however, no newcomer to competing against high-level athletes. He’s a two-time ISKA Kickboxing World Champion who’s 36-9 in the striking arts.

After making a full recovery Rodtang is scheduled to face 12-time Mixed Martial Arts World Champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson in a special hybrid-rules martial arts bout at ONE X on 5 December.

The two giants will contest their super-fight under Muay Thai rules in the first and third rounds and mixed martial arts rules in the second and fourth rounds – should the fight go that far, that is.

In the meantime, download the ONE Super App to catch all the action at ONE: FIRST STRIKE on Friday, 15 October, live and for free.
