The Paranaque City government was elated to announce that the city has moved-up to the qualification phase of the ongoing search for the New 7 Wonders Cities.

According to Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Paranaque was able to move-up to the qualification phase for the New 7 Wonders Cities because the city has consistently fared well financially and has since been included in the National statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) Top 10 Philippines Cities lists.
