Paris Jackson gushes over 'older brothers' Omer Bhatti and Prince: 'I love them so much'

Paris Jackson's relationships with her older "brothers" are explored in the newest episode of her Facebook Watch series "Unfiltered."

In addition to Prince, born Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., Paris describes Norwegian dancer and rapper Omer Bhatti, 35, as her "oldest brother" in Tuesday's episode.

“Anytime we see each other... we feel recharged when we spend time together,” says Paris. “Both of my older brothers are like my best friends. I love them so much.”

This may be confusing to those who know Michael Jackson to have three children: Prince, 23, Paris, 22, and Prince Michael II (nicknamed Blanket), 18. Adding another layer of mystery, Michael's father Joe Jackson identified Bhatti as a child of Michael's in a 2009 interview with NewsOne/TVOne.

"Yes, I knew he had another son, yes I did," Joe told the outlet, adding: "He looks like a Jackson, he acts like a Jackson, he can dance like a Jackson."

But Bhatti, who says he began performing at 9, appears to shoot down the notion that he is related to the late singer in "Unfiltered."

“Being on TV and having these appearances later led me to Michael Jackson, where he, in a way, adopted me and became like a mentor and a father figure for me," Bhatti says. "As a little kid, looking up to him, the way I did back then, it’s like everything that I saw, it’s like I was like a sponge, just taking up everything.

"He would later say that I was like a mini-version of him," Bhatti says of Michael, "and I ended up going on tour with him. I would have a seat, like, right on stage…”

Though he distances himself biologically from Michael, Bhatti still feels a kinship to the late singer's children.

“I consider myself an older brother because when Prince was born, my mom (Pia Bhatti) was hired to be Prince’s nanny, and Paris, I’ve been there since she was a baby," says Bhatti. "I would say almost maybe even partly raised her. Yeah, she’s my little sister in every way.”

USA TODAY has reached out to a reps for Paris and Bhatti for clarification on his relationship with Michael.

Bhatti sparked curiosity when he reportedly joined Michael's family members as they mourned their musical brother at a memorial service in 2009. Bhatti's Instagram account preserves memories with Michael. It includes such posts as one shared in 2018 where the two are wearing matching black hats, and another where they're dressed similarly in maroon and black. But it should be noted that while he captions his birthday shoutout to Michael "Happy Birthday dear Sensei," in 2019 he appeared to pay tribute to his father, a man who is not Michael, sharing an image with the caption "Dear Dad."

To the camera, Bhatti points out the differences between the siblings.

“Prince is always way more in line, compared to Paris, and he would also get after her," Bhatti says. "He would see that he was always that big brother, trying to tell her right from wrong and he was the same way as me – very protective."
