PAS will decide my fate today, says Husam

Former PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa says the party’s central committee meeting will decide today if action should be taken against him over his criticism of the party leadership. “A logging businessman from Rantau Panjang told me I would be sacked tomorrow (today). “I just want to say, there is no need to sack me, then others will say logging businessmen are now in control of PAS,” Husam said at a talk in Pengkalan Chepa last night. PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan has said Husam could face action, including being sacked. This followed his constant criticism of the party, including the plan to repair ties with its arch enemy, Umno. “He could face disciplinary action, he can either be stripped of his party post, suspended or sacked from the party,” Bernama quoted Takiyuddin as saying. According to Husam, there was nothing wrong about criticising the party leadership as this was allowed in Islam. “The party can be criticised and doing it in the open is not wrong. “It is a different matter if the criticism is not false,” Husam said, defending his action. The Salor assemblyman continued to criticise the party leadership at the talk yesterday, including the Kelantan deputy menteri besar, who is also PAS vice-president, Datuk Muhammad Amar Abdullah. “He has all sorts of cars, where did he get the money? “I was an exco member before but could not afford such things,” Husam said. – February 13, 2016.
