Pas, PKR urged to prioritise people

ALOR STAR: Pas and PKR have been urged to prioritise the people even though there have been pressures from certain quarters for Selangor Pas executive council (exco) members to step down from their respective positions in the state.

Former Selangor MB Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said matters concerning state administration must be separated from political disagreements as both parties had benefited from each other during the last general election.

“Administration must be separated from politics. They must practice transparency and be responsible because Pas too has made promises to represent the people of Selangor,” he told reporters when met at Pas’ 63rd Muktamar here today.

Khalid said this in regards to the motions moved by Pas Ulama and Youth wings yesterday, urging party leadership to end its tahaluf siyasi (political cooperation) with PKR.

Yesterday PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution in response said all Selangor Pas exco members should resign from their respective posts if the Islamic party decides to end its political ties with PKR.

He also said that there was no logic in Pas continuing to serve in Selangor when it is not even part of the government.
