Pas to urge gov't to set up royal commission, look into Felda, Tabung Haji losses

ALOR STAR: Pas has accepted a motion urging the Malaysian government to set up a royal commission to audit the loss suffered by Felda and Tabung Haji.

In the motion tabled by Pas Muslimat representative Wan Hasrina Wan Hassan, the delegates at the 63rd Pas Muktamar today also accepted the motion to investigate the two government-linked companies.

The commission was to identify if there are any wrongdoings in the management of the two companies.

She said there are 317 Felda settlements in 54 constituencies and most of the settlers are Muslims.

She said the commission would ensure that the companies can continue to protect the people.

Pas Youth representative Wan Romani Wan Daud who agreed with the motion said Felda was appointed to manage the plantation and settlers.

Earlier eight motions were accepted without debate including motions to strengthen the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, to urge the government to investigate the 1MDB and SRC International scandals, and to handle issues related to liberal Muslims.
