ALOR STAR: The Pas' Syura Council will most likely approve the motion brought by this year's Muktamar on ending the party's "tahaluf siyasi" (political cooperation) with PKR, said Pas vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah.

He said this as a reminder to all party members and leaders in facing the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14).

"Since GE14 will be held this year, we should all start focusing on how we can strengthen the machinery.

"I believe there will be a strong wave this time on us especially since this Muktamar has approved the motion to sever ties with PKR.

"Although it is subject to the approval of the Syura Council, I believe this will definitely happen," he said in his speech at Pas' 63rd Muktamar held at Kompleks Pas Kedah here today.

Last week, Pas' Ulama and Youth wings moved motions to sever ties with PKR without debate and yesterday, the motion was approved at the Muktamar.

The motion had received an overwhelming support and will now be forwarded to the Syura Council, the party's highest decision-making body.
