ALOR STAR: Pas today said it is wiling to work with any opposition parties including DAP, to face the 14th General Election, provided the Islamic party is the pact leader.
Its spiritual leader Hashim Jasin said the party is still open for discussion with any party but stressed that any ‘tahaluf siyasi’ (political cooperation) must be according to terms set by Pas.
“We have learnt the lesson from the previous tahalul siyasi and now we are setting the terms and conditions to make sure that future cooperations will benefit the people.
"Previously, we let others lead us and we ended up not making any progress,” he told reporters after opening the Pas Muslimat delegates meeting here today.
Present was Pas Muslimat chief Nuridah Mohd Salleh.
Hashim said the party is even prepared to work with its splinter party, Parti Amanah Negara (PAN), but on a condition that they too, accept its terms and conditions.
He added that Pas is also opening its door to former members who had left to join PAN to return to the party.
“People make mistakes. The past is the past, if they want to come back… we welcome them with open arms.
“If DAP stopped criticising and condemning us, we will also open our doors to cooperate with them,” he said.
