Pasir Gudang Pas hold rally in support of party's move to ditch DAP

MASAI: Pas members today held a rally, the second this month, in support of the party’s decision to sever ties with DAP.

The rally, held in front of the Al Muhajirin Mosque here after Friday prayers, saw more than 20 Pasir Gudang Pas members holding buntings and placards expressing their support for party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang over his decision to ditch former allies DAP.

Pasir Gudang Pas member Hairul Isa, 29, who represented the group, echoed the same sentiment as that of rally-goers in Gelang Patah on March 10.

“There are others who wanted to come today but due to work obligations, we only managed to gather this many supporters. The important thing is to show support for our president,” he said.

He also warned other politicians that they should not be insolent to the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar by condemning the ‘Bangsa Johor’ concept.

"We are saddened by the fact that they are trying to pull the wool over the eyes of Muslims by being in cahoots with another party which does not recognise Islamic principles,” he said.

Hairul said the division had severed ties with DAP and will not be extending any help to DAP members or its affiliates.
