Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems are still being deployed and used in certain frontline areas, said Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk in Telegram on March 14.

"I assure you that anti-aircraft missile units, including the Patriot system, continue to perform tasks in certain areas of the frontline.”

“Our pilots also perform combat missions every day, heroically destroying the occupier," he said.

On March 9, the media reported that Russian troops may have destroyed two launchers of the American Patriot air defense system in Ukraine for the first time.

A Russian drone spotted the Patriot launchers near the front line while they were being transported, after which an Iskander ballistic missile hit the convoy.

The Patriot launchers were destroyed near Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, likely killing the crews.
