McCartney is set to become the festival's oldest ever headliner when he takes to the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night aged 80.

He last headlined the festival back in 2004.

His performance will come 24 hours after Glastonbury's youngest ever headliner Billie Eilish takes to the stage.

The Sunday headliner is rapper Kendrick Lamar while other stars set to perform include Diana Ross, Sam Fender, Lorde, Noel Gallagher, Pet Shop Boys, Foals, Haim and jazz legend Herbie Hancock.

Over 200,000 people are expected to attend the Worthy Park festival which is taking place for the first time since 2019 due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

McCartney and Lamar were also announced as headliners for the cancelled 2020 festival with Taylor Swift also set to topline the Pyramid Stage.

The 2021 festival was also announced with Coldplay as headliners but that was again cancelled due to Covid-19 regulations in the UK.

As a result of the second cancelled year, the festival produced a number of small live concerts featuring acts such as Damon Albarn, Haim and Kano.

Radiohead offshoot The Smile also made their debut at the livestreamed event that was also aired by the BBC in lieu of the festival's cancellation.
