"At all cost." This is how Felicito "Tong" Payumo, former Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) chairman, said political dynasties must end in the provinces in Central Luzon.

Payumo said this is his mission in joining the political race in Bataan as he claimed to have found supporters in this aim in the level of local leaders. Citing the politics in Bulacan, Payumo said the province is a fine example of growing out of the shadow of political dynasties.

He said he resigned from the top BCDA post to run for congressman in the 1st District of Bataan to help stop the political dynasty in the province.

Payumo revealed that on the 8th, 9th and 10th Congress, the Garcia family requested to be the mediator between Roman family in able to create a coalition in the said province.

Payumo the sponsor of the Build Operate and Transfer Law (BOT Law), said he recommended incumbent 2nd District Rep. Abet Garcia for gubernatorial race, while Mayor Joet Garcia for mayorality race in Balanga City.

He also gave suggestions recommending former governor Ding Roman (NPC) to run for congressman of 2nd District, while re-electionist incumbent congresswoman Herminia Roman in the 1st District, incumbent vice governor Efren Pascual, and Jojo Payumo (LP) for mayor in Dinalupihan town to balance the presentations of different parties.

But the Garcia family, Payumo said, disregarded his suggestions which prompted Rep. Roman and Vice Governor Efren Pascual, Jr. to join the Garcia family.

"I believe we must put a stop to political dynasties," said Payumo.

Meanwhile, he said the Commission on Election (Comelec) has rejected the petition filed by Edmund Lee Castaneda against his disqualification to run for congressman.
