PBA Partylist Rep. Jerico Nograles
MANILA — PBA Partylist Rep. Jerico Nograles was dismayed upon seeing a copy of the impeachment complaint against Vice President Leni Robredo in which his name is labelled as the endorser.
Rep. Nograles denied the matter, and said he is looking into pressing charges against the persons who used his name on a controversial document.
“Pinatawag ko sila bumalik sila sa iposina ko at tinanong ko magkakilala ba tayo did i shake your hands why did you put my name here did i give any authority are you my attorney,” Nograles said.
(I sent for them. They returned to my office and I asked them if we knew each other. ‘Did I shake your hands? Why did you put my name here? Did I give any authority? Are you my attorney?)
Impeach Leni Movement Spokesperson, Atty. Bruce Rivera, said on Tuesday they have spoken with several congressmen to endorse a complaint, but did not give any names.
“At this point we cannot divulge the identities of these individuals at this point because that was their intention that was their request because, they say, it is a delicate matter,” Atty. Rivera said.
The said complaint is yet to be filed up to now. Based on the rules in the Lower House, if there is no congressman endorsing a complaint, it will be considered invalid.
The camp of the Vice President is prepared to face the imminent impeachment complaint.
“We’re not sure if there would be endorsement happening. Then it is a process that we will have to go through,” VP Leni Robredo’s legal adviser Barry Gutierreze said.
Meanwhile, Malacañang is leaving the decision on the complaint up to the Lower House of Congress.
“Let’s just let the process go.It’s a democratic country, and those who are pursuing the case, just let do that,” presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said. — Grace Casin | UNTV News & Rescue
