PBS KIDS launches first tablet offering educational fun for children

Educational media brand PBS KIDS has announced the launch of its first tablet, the Playtime Pad.

Produced by electronics brand Ematic, the 16GB tablet will feature PBS KIDS' educational content and include more than 25 games and 120 video clips and music videos, along with a further 100+ hours of video on the PBS KIDS Video App. The apps PBS KIDS ScratchJr and PBS Parents Play and Learn are also included, and for kids to get creative the Playtime Pad also offers a front-and-back camera and a Paint Box coloring app.

As well as educational fun the kidSAFE® Coppa-certified pad also offers peace of mind for parents and a variety of parental controls to limit screen time and what kids can access.

PBS KIDS are also set to launch a free 24-hour channel and livestream delivered by PBS member stations, which will be available across various platforms including the Playtime Pad.

The PBS KIDS Playtime Pad will launch November 6 at Best Buy stores and on bestbuy.com for $79.99, on walmart.com and on shop.pbskids.org.
