JEMPOL: A 33-year-old man gave a young woman the fright of her life while she was using a public toilet at a mall here, yesterday.
The 21-year-old woman was utilising the facilities at 12.45pm when she was startled by a flash of light coming from the bottom of the toilet cubicle wall.
When she bent down to check the source of the flash, she noticed a man’s hand, sticking out from the bottom of the next cubicle, holding a camera phone.
“She immediately stormed out and knocked on the neighbouring cubicle’s door. (When there was no response), she kicked the door open and found a man in the woman’s bathroom, holding the mobile phone,” said Jempol district police chief Superintendent Noorzainy Mohd Noor.
“The woman grabbed the phone from the man and was shocked to find her picture in it. She screamed for help and the suspect immediately fled the scene.
“However, he was caught by the public, who later handed him to the police,” he added. Noorzainy said early investigation showed that the suspect, a lorry driver from Tampin, is married and has three children.
“A urine test was also conducted on the suspect, and he tested positive for drugs.
“The case is being investigated under Section 509/511 of the Penal Code,” he added.
