GEORGE TOWN: The Penang government will be filing a lawsuit against the Election Commission over the latter’s re-delineation exercises.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the state executive council made the decision to file the lawsuit after discovering ‘shocking evidence’ linked to the exercises.

“We will file the lawsuit after the deadline on the submission of objections on April 7.

“We filed one objection on April 4 and will be filing another objection before April 7 on our discovery” he told a press conference here today.

Lim, however, refused to elaborate on the nature of the “discovery.”

“I will only reveal our discovery in the presence of State Religious Affairs and Domestic Trade committee chairman Abdul Malik Abul Kassim, who is in Kuala Lumpur now on official business,” he said.
