GEORGE TOWN: The 58-year-old woman, who was captured on camera being knocked down by a speeding motorcycle today, has died.
Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said Foo Swee Wah died about 8.45pm at the Penang Hospital.
He said a post-mortem would be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
He said the case will now be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Mior issued a warning to the motorcyclist to surrender.
"I am hereby warning the motorcyclist: Surrender yourself to the police immediately or we will hunt you down," he said.

Three seconds later, a motorcycle slammed into her, dropping a motorcycle helmet in the process.
Foo fell to the ground and a loud scream was subsequently heard.
Foo was immediately rushed to the Penang Hospital for treatment.
Mior said police have identified the motorcycle registration number.
