People in Turkey try to stay warm after deadly quake

STORY: Hatay resident Cennet Inal said some of her relatives had died and others were still trapped under rubble.

"There are aftershocks. It's uncertain what will happen to us," she said.

In Kahramanmaras, another resident said children were becoming hungry following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake.

The huge earthquake killed thousands of people across a swathe of Turkey and northwest Syria on Monday, with freezing winter weather adding to the plight of the thousands left injured or homeless and hampering efforts to find survivors.
