IPOH: Perak Barisan Nasional is not intimidated by talks that the Opposition will win over the state in the next general elections.

State BN chairman and Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said such warnings would not affect its efforts in continuing to serve the people.

“We refuse to dance to their (the opposition) tune, when they have party problems of their own. And in Perak, we know that the alliance is being led by DAP.

“PKR deputy president and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is also welcomed to come here if he can divide his time between Selangor (as elected representative) and Perak as far as tactics for general elections is concerned.

“We are not intimidated by statements from the Opposition leaders including Azmin who said the alliance will take back the state and would continue working for the people.

“I don’t like to show my ‘kuku’ (strength) to people and prefer to work and improve Perak instead,” he told a press conference at an event in Ipoh today, adding that BN have long dealt with these veiled threats and will continue to rise above it.

BN and the Opposition hold 31 and 28 state seats, respectively.
