SERI ISKANDAR: The sixth instalment of the Perak Menteri Besar meet-the-people programme will be held at the Perak Tengah district, from tomorrow until March 11.
Perak Tengah district officer Datuk Mat Dan Hassan, in announcing this today, said the five-day programme would see Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and his state executive council members meeting the people in Bota, Belanja and Kampung Gajah in 109 programmes.
"17 of the programmes will be by the MB himself while 91 by the state excos and one by Baiduri (Perak Welfare Association of Wives of Elected Representatives)," he said at a press conference at Seri Iskandar District Council here today.
This would be the latest meet-and-greet for the state government in reaching out and understanding the people’s problems. At the same time, Mat Dan said it will be a great opportunity for the people to meet their reps especially those in Perak Tengah.
The previous meet-the-people programmes were held in Hulu Perak, Kerian, Bukit Gantang, Larut and Bagan Datuk.
Among the activities planned included Klinik Dr Zambry, the setting up of several state and federal agency counters to facilitate dealings, talks, religious forums, midnight prayers, get-togethers and executive discussions with civil servants.
The programmes are based on seven cores – sports and youth; religion and integration; economy, tourism and culture; education, human capital and information; and communications technology; safety, nature sustainability and resources; and people’s wellbeing.
