MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Wednesday (March 13) dispatched water tankers to assist hospitals that are affected by the ongoing water shortage in Metro Manila due to the diminishing supply at La Mesa Dam.
The PRC said it already distributed a total of 256,000 liters of water to the Rizal Medical Center as of 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Likewise, the agency also put up portable toilets at the hospital to help maintain sanitation in their premises.
PRC Chairman Senator Richard Gordon directed the agency to prioritize hospitals to help address the health facilities’ water problems as water is crucial to their daily operations. — Marje Pelayo
