A magnitude-7 quake hit the General Santos City area in Mindanao Tuesday afternoon, with state seismologists warning of possible aftershocks.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was recorded at 2:57 p.m. and was tectonic in origin.
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake's epicenter was 1,406 km southeast of General Santos City.
Phivolcs said the quake was felt at Intensity II in Davao City.
While it said there was no damage expected, Phivolcs warned of possible aftershocks. — RSJ, GMA News
