The inaugural Singapore Tea Festival at ION Orchard

Hundreds of tea lovers gathered at the inaugural Singapore Tea Festival that took place last weekend (22-23 July) in the basement of ION Orchard.

Presented by local heritage tea retailer The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. in conjunction with the Singapore Food Festival, the two-day event delivered a showcase of all things tea in Singapore.

There were four main themed elements – A Tea Market, a Teapitiam, a Tea Room and a Tea Museum.

The Tea Market showcased a slew of local tea vendors such as Tea Chapter, Infusion-de-vie and Mud Rock selling different tea products. These ranged from teapots to unique tea flavours that event-goers could smell and sample.

The Teapitiam is a tea-themed pop-up cafe with a special menu curated by Burpple. There was a wide variety of tea-flavoured items such as cakes, puffs and donuts sold from S$2.

Participants also took part in educational tea workshops at the Tea Room and a Tea Museum where they could find out more about the history of tea.
