Like many of us regular folk, this summer The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children (Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis) opted for a staycation rather than heading abroad. For Prince William and Kate Middleton, their chosen destination was the beautiful island of Tresco, the second largest of the Scilly Isles, just off the Cornish coast – and naturally, they stayed somewhere rather fancy.

The royals, according to reports, settled in at Dolphin House; a six-bedroom property handily owned by Prince Charles, which William will one day inherit from his father. It's a Grade II listed building, with sprawling gardens and sea views, and is thought to be where Prince William stayed as a child when he visited the island with his parents and brother, Prince Harry (back in 1989). *Sigh*

When we reached out to confirm whether or not said reports about the stay are true, a spokesperson for Tresco said, "For guest privacy, we cannot confirm where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stayed on Tresco" – however, they did share the following beautiful pictures of Dolphin House.

The stunning spot is available for the public to book too, for a casual £4865 a week in high season (it does sleep up to 10 though, so in theory if you rounded up enough pals and divided the cost...). In low season, this cost drops to £2230 a week.

Anyway! Here's an exterior shot of Dolphin House:

Here's a picturesque look at the terrace of the house. Can you even imagine having breakfast there every morning, overlooking literal paradise? Seriously, this lockdown summer has really opened our eyes to some very overlooked UK beauty spots.

The house has one double bedroom (pictured), three twin rooms and two singles. If the reports that say William and Kate stayed at Dolphin House are true, it's likely this was the bedroom they slept in.

Last but not least, this is the dining room in the house. Very into that brick wall and artwork on display.

On the Tresco Island website, the home is described as a "large old granite Rectory, with spectacular views towards Round Island Lighthouse, set in large private walled garden."

You have to admit, it's pretty special.
