Prince Harry stars in charity polo match in Singapore

Prince Harry starred in a charity polo match in Singapore on the second day of his two-day visit to the Republic.

At the Singapore Polo Club on Monday 5 June, the prince led his team to a 5-2 victory in the Sentebale Polo Cup. He scored two of his team’s goals.

The match was watched by some 300 guests including celebrities Gemma Chan, Joanne Frogatt and Karen Gillan.

The annual event is a fundraiser for the Sentebale charity, which supports children in Botswana and Lesotho living with or affected by HIV.

Before the match began, the teams observed a minute of silence for the victims of the recent terrorist attack in London.

Scottish actress Gillan, who starred in Dr Who and Guardians of the Galaxy, presented the team their trophy and a bottle of whisky after the match.

On 4 June, the prince observed iftar, also known as the breaking of the fast during Ramadan at Jamiyah Children’s Home.

The prince also attended an Action for Aids reception on Sunday at Eden Hall, the official residence of the British High Commissioner.

The prince leaves on Tuesday for Sydney.
