Protest against public transport fare hike in Singapore

About 300 people gathered at Hong Lim Park on Saturday, 25 January 2014, to protest the recently-announced public transport fare hike that will kick in in Singapore by April this year.

Organised by Gilbert Goh of Transitioning, plans were initially made to burn an effigy of Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew, but after police warned that it was illegal to do so, they poured water on it from water bottles instead.

Check out a few highlights of the protest in these images.
