113th Philippine Independence Day
Filipinos on a motorcycle ride past the Bonifacio Trial House in Maragondon, Cavite province, located 60-kilometers south of Manila. Amidst the nationwide celebration of the country's 113th Independence Day, the Gat Andres Bonifacio Trial House, which is the only existing museum in honor of Bonifacio, was silent and did not hold any visitors. The trial house-museum will soon be removed as an agreement between the National Historical Institute and the lot owners will expire on 2014. Bonifacio, founder of the Katipunan and led Filipinos to revolt against Spanish colonizers, was tried with his brother Procopio by a court-martial in a house in Maragondon. Bonifacio and Procopio, was shot to death on May 10, 1897, on Mt. Nagpatong. (Mike Alquinto/NPPA Images)
