Star Wars soldiers walk down Orchard Road on Star Wars Day

"May the Fourth be with you": the pun off the famous Star Wars phrase was popularised in 1979 when an advertisement to celebrate the late Margaret Thatcher's election on 4 May that year contained the phrase.

The pun has turned 4 May into Star Wars Day, when fans of the space opera epic celebrate Star Wars culture. Star Wars universe soldiers took to the streets to celebrate the day with members of the public in Singapore.
