There's more to Baisakhi than bhangra

Baisakhi, also known as Vaisakhi and Vasakhi, is celebrated across north India but its pulse can be felt most palpably in Punjab, where its celebration has a special significance for the Sikh community and is synchronous with harvest festivities. On this day in 1699, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh, founded the Panth Khalsa, the Order of the Pure.

Besides this, Vaisakhi or Baisakhi is also important to Hindus. Besides Punjab, Baisakhi is celebrated across the world where there is a significant population of Sikh Diaspora such as Canada, the United States and Great Britain.
