Who wore what: IIFA 2015 weekend

The IIFA weekend is a marathon of celebrities making statements, one after the other. While most pick their tried and tested safe bets, some emerge with refreshing takes on their looks.

Sonakshi Sinha debuted her singing talent at IIFA Rocks in a sophisticated Anamika Khanna number. Bipasha Basu's choice of a moss green and gold Sabyasachi lehenga might have been a tad bit ostentatious for the occasion, but she kept the look clean and sharp with a dark lip. Shraddha Kapoor and Malaika Arora Khan, both in Georges Charka, picked age-appropriate looks for the night. Jacqueline Fernandez went all out in a silver Monisha Jaising gown; her pop pink lip adding just the right amount of colour.

If there ever was a lesson to be learnt from the 2015 IIFA awards, it was to never underesitmate the power of red. Deepika Padukone's Sabysachi sari was demure, yet made a statement in its sequinned glory. Anushka Sharma and Bipasha Basu, both in Gauri and Nainika, pulled off modern elegance with ease. Sonakshi Sinha worked a black Monisha Jaising gown with a sheer embellished bodice, while Shraddha Kapoor played it safe in a strapless Mason by Michelle Mason dress. Malaika Arora Khan pulled off a Marie Anoitette-esque gown by Ashi Studio—which was no mean feat by any standards.

For the men, black was an obvious choice, worn by Anil Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Riteish Deshmukh and more. Shahid Kapoor gave his classic tux a dishevelled look with an open collar. Few who experimented with colour included Hrithik Roshan in red, followed by Ayushmann Khurana and Sonu Sood in deep blue.
