DUNGUN: Two teenage boys were killed when the motorcycle they were riding was rammed into by an out-of-control pickup truck at KM76 of Jalan Jerangau-Jabor near the JPJ Weigh Bridge Station at Bukit Besi here, today.
In the 5.20pm incident, best friends Muhammad Nor Eyizhar Mohd Shukri, 16 and Muhammad Amirul Nabil Sidek, 15, both from Kampung Dendang here, died at the scene.
The boys were en route to Jerangau from Bukit Besi when a Toyota Hilux – moving in the same direction behind them – suddenly skidded to the right side of the road, bounced off the guardrail and swerved to the left before colliding with their Honda EX5.
According to district police chief Superintendent Baharudin Abdullah, the boys’ next-of-kin were informed of the accident; and their remains were taken to the Forensic Unit of the Dungun Hospital for a post-mortem. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
