Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has won Arsenal's Player of the Season award by an overwhelming margin.

While the 2019/20 season was largely a difficult one for Arsenal, Aubameyang enjoyed another fruitful campaign in front of goal as well as leading the Gunners to FA Cup glory.

Aubameyang scored 22 Premier League goals, missing out on sharing the Golden Boot with Jamie Vardy by a single strike, while his FA Cup form was sensational.

The Gabon international scored braces in both the 2-0 semi-final win over Manchester City and the 2-1 final victory over Chelsea.

The Gunners finished eighth in the League in a season during which Unai Emery was sacked and Mikel Arteta took over as head coach, but that FA Cup win means the north London club will be playing Europa League football next month.

Aubameyang's form has seen him dominate Arsenal's Player of the Season award, winning with a staggering 74 per cent of the votes cast.

Standard Sport understands that Aubameyang is set to commit his future to the Gunners by signing an improved contract to end speculation about a potential exit.

Following months of negotiations, the 31-year-old is believed to have verbally agreed a new deal until 2023, thought to be worth more than £250,000 a week.

The Gunners are also targeting Lille central defender Gabriel Magalhaes and want a central midfielder, with Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey on their list.
