Piers Morgan is leaving the UK behind as he takes a break from Good Morning Britain for the summer.

The TV host shared a picture of himself sporting a mask in a plane at Heathrow Airport as he told social media followers on Sunday morning he was leaving the country after a "surreal" time amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"I’m a washed up, knackered pathetic excuse for a celebrity... get me outta here. Bye Britain, it’s been... surreal," he wrote to Instagram and Twitter.

While he is now COVID-19 free, Draper is yet to regain full consciousness and still remains hospitalised.

In an appearance on the show earlier this week Garraway, 55, said she was returning after doctors advised her to "get on" with her life. The mother-of-two also shared it's what she believes her husband would want for her too.
