A pinhole camera was discovered in a handicapped toilet at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), according to Chinese language daily Lianhe Wanbao

The camera was apparently hidden inside a plastic hook mounted on the interior of the door, and positioned at the same level as the toilet bowl. The toilet is located in a building shared by the School of Humanities and School of Social Sciences.

While the camera contained an SD card, it is not known if the card contained any images or videos.

Police received “a call for assistance on a case of insulting the modesty of women in Nanyang Drive” on Thursday evening (1 March). Investigations are ongoing.

In response to queries from Yahoo News Singapore, an NTU spokesman confirmed that a suspected pinhole camera was found inside a handicapped toilet on campus on Thursday.

“The police (were) called and the device was immediately removed and taken away as part of police investigations. The university has also stepped up security patrols in the area.”
