PKR leaders invited to attend Pas' 63rd muktamar

ALOR STAR: Although the motion to review its ties with PKR emerged as the most popular from Pas divisions nationwide, the Islamic party still inviting PKR leaders to attend the opening ceremony of its 'muktamar' this Saturday.

Pas secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan said several top PKR leaders have confirmed their attendance.

He said Pas had also extended the invitation to leaders from other parties regarded as 'friends' including Berjasa, Ikatan and also several non-governmental organisations as well as Chinese associations.

"We are not inviting Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) as Pas decided to suspend talks with them after they decided to join Pakatan Harapan," he told a press conference here today.

Takiyuddin stressed that PKR leaders were invited as the Pas-PKR relationship transcends beyond Pakatan Harapan.

On another matter, Takiyuddin said the party will not stop any of its members from attending the muktamar, including Pas Pokok Sena member of Parliament Datuk Mahfuz Omar, who has been vocal in criticising the party leadership.

"Of course he can come if he wishes. He is still a (Pas) member after all," he said.
