KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today congratulated all candidates who sat for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2016 examination and obtained excellent results.
At the same time, he reminded the successful candidates to appreciate the contributions of their teachers and parents who had led them to succeed in the examination.
"Congratulations to all candidates of #SPM2016 who succeeded, thank your teachers and parents who have contributed much for our success," he said in his Twitter website.
A total of 8,647 out of the 434,535 candidates, or 2.13 per cent who had sat for the SPM 2016, had obtained all As (A+, A, A-) in all subjects sat for, compared with 9,721 candidates in 2015.
However, SPM 2016 results achieved a better National Average Grade (GPN) of 5.10, compared with 5.15 in 2015. -- Bernama
