KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today condemned “irresponsible quarters” who belittle the police force by making "unreasonable allegations" against them.

Speaking at the 210th Police Day celebration here, Najib stressed that the government will continue to stand behind the police force, which is a respected institution.

"I am sad that there are some irresponsible parties who try to belittle the role and contributions of the police, and tarnish their image with unreasonable allegations.

"This is a dishonourable act," he said.
