Two days after undergoing surgery to remove his prostate gland, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong 'dropped in' on a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

The recovering prime minister said "hi" to his Cabinet ministers, gathered for their weekly meeting, via teleconference, he said in a post on his Facebook page. Lee also mentioned that President Tony Tan Keng Yam and his wife visited him in hospital earlier in the day. "Deeply appreciate everyone’s concern and good wishes," he added.

Lee had undergone the operation after tests in January showed that he has prostate cancer.

After the meeting, several ministers took to social media to wish the prime minister well, such as manpower minister Tan Chuan-Jin, who posted a ‘wefie’.

“Some of us thought we’d take a #wefie with boss! Best not to disturb him in hospital!” wrote Tan in a Facebook post, adding the hashtag ‪#‎GetWellSoonPM.
