SANDAKAN: All eyes were on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak as he conducted a walkabout in the town centre here, meeting and greeting the people and taking in local sights.

Najib, along with his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, toured the Harbour City and engaged in sporadic conversation with some of the delighted locals.

Members of the public were seen taking the opportunity to excitedly take photos and videos of the Prime Minister as he strolled along Pryer Road.

Najib and Rosmah were accompanied by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman and his wife Datin Seri Fardidah Tussin, Deputy Chief Minister cum State Industrial Development Minister Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah, and State Special Tasks Minister Datuk Teo Chee Kang, among others.

Najib also launched the “I Love Sandakan” landmark letter installation near the seaside Harbour Mall Sandakan.

He and Rosmah were then ushered to a food stall where they enjoyed high-tea with state and local leaders.

Earlier, Najib launched the Taman Batu Sapi People's Housing Project (PPR) and presented mock keys to 10 home owners of the PPR flats.

He then performed Friday prayers at the Wasatiyyah Mosque, situated within the PPR compound.

Najib and Rosmah will be flying to Kota Kinabalu, where the top leadership is scheduled to attend a meeting with Sabah leaders in the evening.
