It’s game on, in the best of three final series at the UNTV Cup Season 5!
After proving to be the strongest teams in the league this season, the PNP Responders and the Malacanang Kamao will collide on the UNTV Cup hard court to finally determine who will take home the UNTV Cup Season 5 trophy.
The Responders, who are not new to the final stage of the league after going into a head-on collision with the Judiciary Magis in season 1, and the AFP Cavaliers both in Seasons 2 and 4, will attempt to clinch the title for the fourth time.
On the other hand, the Malacañang Kamao, formerly Malacañang Patriots, who failed to beat the Judiciary Magis in the season 3 championship series, has another bid to bring home the much-coveted label, the champions.
For this the Kamao team is gearing up ahead of the battle.
Malacanang Kamao Head Coach Louie Gonzales said, “Talagang ipapakita namin kung ano yung value ng kapag ang team naglalaro as one, pag may team work at saka maganda ang samahan.”
(We will show the value of playing as one, with team work and good relationship.)
Coach Louie added, “Kailangan sa lahat ng aspect ng game, kailangan kundisyon kami, kailangan mentally tough kami. Tapos yung mind set namin tama entering that game on Sunday.”
(In all aspect of the game we are in good condition and mentally tough. We should have the proper mindset entering the game on Sunday.)
(We had a big adjustment, we studied their games. When in comes to court, it’s anybody’s ball game. We are working hard for these charities we look forward to helping.)
And on PNP Responders, Coach Erick Samson and the team are working hard to further improve in various departments.
Coach Samson said,“Yung simula namain doon siguro kami magpo-focus. At the same time, yung depensa namin ang daming loopholes, eh. Pangalawa yung field goal percentage namin, adjust pa kami diyan.”
(Perhaps we must focus on how to start the game. At the same time, defense. There are many loopholes. Secondly, our field goal percentage, we are still working on that department.)
Over P8-million cash prizes await the league of public servants this season which will be donated to the chosen beneficiaries of each team.
At 5:00 PM on March 5, Sunday to be aired live on UNTV emanating from the Pasig City Sports Center with live streaming via www.untvweb.com. — Bernard Dadis | UNTV News & Rescue
