Police arrest suspect who kicked a 78-year-old woman in the face on the subway in shocking video

A man who was filmed brutally attacking a 78-year-old woman on a New York City subway in the Bronx, shortly after 3 a.m. on March 10, has been arrested, police reported on Saturday.

The subject wanted for the brutal subway attack of an elderly woman IS IN CUSTODY. The victim was treated & released from the hospital & is getting the care, advocacy & support needed. Thank you to the worldwide community for the tremendous assistance,” Chief of Detectives Dermot F. Shea tweeted on Saturday.

Charges against the man, Marc Gomez, 36, include counts of assault and harassment

The viral video, which shows the man repeatedly kicking a 78-year-old woman in the face and body while she sat on the northbound No. 2 train, captivated millions on social media. He then tells fellow passengers, “Now, WorldStar that, my [n-word]!” before walking out off the train.

Warning, the footage is extremely graphic.

Many, including rapper and actor Ice-T, voiced their disgust on social media, as well as calling out the people on the train who did not interfere during the attack.

“This is some coward [a** s***]… WTF,” he tweeted. “[F***] everybody on that train that watched and filmed this BS.. This MF needs to get stomped the [f***] out!”

A man who shared the video, which he screen-recorded and did not originally film, tweeted, “You never put hands on any woman. Especially an older woman. And any real New Yorker would’ve done anything but record this. These were obviously kids on the train with no real sense but to say ‘Ooos’ & ‘Ahhs.'”
