Police identify suspect who broke into Kelantan MB, Treasury offices

KOTA BARU: Police have identified a suspect believed to have broken into the offices of the State Treasury and Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob at the Darulnaim Complex in Jalan Kuala Krai here yesterday.

Deputy Kota Baru district police chief Superintendent Setapa Yusoff said police identified the 39-year-old suspect through the CCTV obtained from the offices.

He said initial investigation showed that the suspect had broken into the offices between 2am and 3am yesterday.

“Initial investigation showed that the man has 13 previous crime records and police will arrest him soon,” he told reporters at his office here today.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code.

The break-in of the two offices was discovered by staff members who arrived at the complex at 8am yesterday. They noticed that the two offices had been ransacked and immediately informed the authorities.
