Ten youths between the ages of 16 and 18 are being investigated by the police for allegedly selling fake tickets for Universal Studios Singapore’s Halloween Horror Nights 7 (HHN7).

Between August and October this year, the Singapore Police Force received several reports from victims who were cheated by online sellers who offered HHN7 tickets at discounted prices.

The victims only discovered that the tickets were fake when they presented them at the event venue and were denied entry.

According to SPF investigations, at least 120 fake tickets were sold to unsuspecting buyers. Preliminary investigations also revealed that three of the suspects provided false information to the police by alleging that they had been coerced to sell the fake tickets.

Anyone found guilty of giving false information to a public servant can be jailed up to one year, fined up to $5,000 or both.

Anyone found guilty of forgery for the purpose of cheating can be jailed for up to 10 years and/or fined. Anyone who intentionally aids in or abets the commission of the said offence is also liable for the same punishment.
