Police rule out foul play on two bodies found at Teluk Bahang beach

GEORGE TOWN: No criminal elements were found in the case of the two bodies washed ashore at Teluk Bahang here last night.

According to Southwest district Supt Anuar Omar, the two have been identified as Tan Li Gin, 21, and Eonithin Amarish, 2.

“Post-mortem revealed that the victims died of drowning,” he said in a statement.

“We are of the opinion that there are no criminal elements in this case,” Anuar said after interviewing witnesses and medical officers involved.

Yesterday, a woman alerted police after finding the body of a woman and a boy dead slumped on the beach in front of the Tropical Spice Garden.

They were found bound together with a raffia string and paramedics estimated they have been dead for the past 24 hours.

The deceased's husband, K. Amarish, 21, has identified the two bodies.
