Posey to disabled list with concussion symptoms

San Francisco Giants's Buster Posey is experiencing concussion symptoms after being hit on the head with a pitch by the Arizona Diamondbacks's Taijuan Walker

San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey was placed on the seven-day disabled list with concussion symptoms on Tuesday, a day after he took a fastball to the helmet while batting.

A 94 mph pitch from Arizona Diamondbacks starter Taijuan Walker hit Posey in the crown of his helmet in the first inning of the Giants' 4-1 win.

Posey immediately went down as manager Bruce Bochy and trainer Dave Groeschner raced to the plate. He didn't appear to lose consciousness and stood on his own and left the game.

Immediately after the game, Bochy said Posey appeared to be "fine".

But Giants general manager Bobby Evans said Posey was experiencing concussion symptoms on Tuesday.
